Distracted Drivers - Boston Lawyer

Representing Clients Injured By Distracted Drivers

At The Law Firm of Scott D. Goldberg, P.C., we realize that people today are multitasking at an amazing rate. However, this does not excuse the fact that using a cell phone while driving or texting while driving may cause an accident. No one's life should be put in jeopardy simply to make a call or send a message.

Distracted drivers are becoming increasingly responsible for causing traffic accidents and being cited by police for distracted driving. At our office, attorney Scott Goldberg is current on the new Massachusetts laws that govern the use of a cell phone in a car, and texting and driving, that are soon to be going into effect.

These laws include a statement that says no driver under 21 may use a cell phone in a car for making calls or texting. They will also be barred from using other electronic devices while driving as well. It is not out of the question to think that these laws may soon be applied to all drivers.

We at The Law Firm of Scott D. Goldberg, P.C., can utilize these laws when seeking liability after you have been injured in a car accident with a distracted driver. We do not tolerate the violation of laws that are in place for your safety and aggressively seek compensation for the injuries you have suffered due to the distracted driver's negligence.

Other Distractions

Though most "distracted driving" cases now refer to a driver who was talking on a cell phone or texting, there are other types of distractions that might be noticed by an officer, leaving you with a traffic violation. These distractions include:

  • Reading while driving (a book or newspaper)
  • Eating while driving
  • Listening to headphones (that cover both ears)
  • Putting on makeup while looking in a mirror
  • Other people in the car (often occurs when there is a car full of teenagers)
