In 1997, Attorney Goldberg’s successful representation of a "temporary employee," who was not provided safety equipment, redefined the legal obligation of employers to pay disability compensation to individuals placed by a Temp Agency. This change in law received front-page coverage in Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly newspaper. In 1999, Attorney Goldberg successfully argued that a workers compensation insurance company's interpretation of "reasonable grounds" was itself unreasonable. In the case, In Re: Gonsalves, which also headlined Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly, the Department of Industrial Accidents ruled that insurers must meet an objective  - not subjective - standard. The decision ultimately led to a significant award of retroactive benefits for our client.
